Sri Lankan Star tortoise
There are numerous websites about tortoises and tortoise care, including this one, in the cyberspace. As always, use your own judgment when using information found on the web.

Linking to Star Tortoises
If you'd like to link to a photo on my site, please do create a link to the web page the photo is on, instead of linking directly to the photo. Direct linking to images on another server for use on your website or forum posting is known as bandwidth theft. It's also extremely bad netiquette.
If you'd like to link to the Star Tortoises Net website (http://startortoises.net) with a graphic link, here's a graphic you can copy and post on your website.

Using my photos
If you'd like to use a photo taken by me, i.e., a photo not credited to someone else, please email me and let me know the URL of the page where you'd like to post it.
- I may give permission to use my photos, if:
- the photo is used unaltered (no derivative works)
- is used in a positive manner
- is used for NON-COMMERCIAL purposes (e.g. an informational web site about tortoises, no sales)
- photo credit is given to StarTortoises.net
- You may NOT use my photos, if:
- the photo is used on a web site that sells something
- is used on a product that's for sale
Just because something is posted online, it doesn't mean it's free to take! All original photos and artwork are automatically copyrighted to the creator. Unless, he or she has specifically released the work into public domain or the copyright has expired.
Sadly, I see unauthorized and non-credited uses of my photos and text on the web. Please, do respect copyrights. My web page contents are not in public domain. Legally, you cannot use my photos, graphics, or writings without my permission.
Who am I?
As a kid, I had many kinds of pets, including a tortoise. As an adult, I've kept chelonians continuously for almost 20 years. I am not a veterinarian, and I do not hold a degree in herpetology. I am just an enthusiastic hobby tortoise keeper. Nuts about tortoises, you could say. :O)
